Siemens Overhead Medium Voltage Systems business segment seeks a Business Development Manager with international business experience, for the product portfolio manufactured at our Global Centre of Competence and Factory at Yatala, Queensland. A key member of the team, the BDM will drive strategic activities in the region of responsibility of the OMVS portfolio, to ensure business growth and expansion of market share. Regions include Central/South America, Middle East & Africa, Europe and South East Asia.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience / understanding of designing, configuring substation protection and automation systems. This role demands a confident presenter with sound communication skills; a professional capable of engaging with customers through technical presentations, negotiations and training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote and drive growth of the OMVS portfolio in the assigned region

• Identify and evaluate business opportunities and develop strategies with channel partners

• Analyse market needs and competitor activity, and communicate insights to product management and R&D

• Provide technical sales support and deliver detailed technical presentations

• Set and achieve order intake, revenue, and quantity targets

• Build and maintain a customer-focused network and support local activities

About You:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus

• At least 5 years experience in Power System Protection Systems (Ideally Electrical relays, protection settings and testing), Control Systems (RTUs, SCADAs) and Communication Systems and Protocols (DNP 3, Modbus, IEC60879)

• Experience with medium voltage switchgear

• Excellent presentation and communication skills

• At least five years of demonstrated success in business development / sales

• Ability to travel internationally up to 30% of the time

• Proficiency in English; additional language skills are an advantage
