SCM SpecialistProfessional (Buyer/Planner), Manufacturing, Point of Care (POC) Walpole
The primary responsibility is as a key member of the Walpole Manufacturing team and will lead in the planning & procurement of materials to support the manufacturing of Blood Gas Sensors. The Buyer/Planner is responsible for planning and executing assigned purchasing & sourcing related activities to procure raw materials & finished goods as well as managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements. Will determine material requirements and maintain inventory at planned levels and continue best practice procurement process. This position is based in Walpole, MA and reports to the Director of Operations.
Manages inventory levels, schedules and availability of selecteditem, either manufactured or purchased component, to meet production schedules.
Initiates purchase orders and amendments for parts, services and/orspecial tools; arranges for submission and inspection of sample products asrequired; maintains close coordination with plant engineering to ensure timelyexecution of product and services sourcing activities.
Coordinates the planning of recent schedules and inventorycontrol parameters for the assigned products and services consistent with SAPrequirements.
Coordinates as appropriate quality matters and engineeringchanges/developments internally between functions and externally withsuppliers.
Visits suppliers’ facilities to qualify them as new sources andassists in the resolution of production, design, quality and/or deliveryproblems
Utilize statistical methods, such as Re-Order Points, and bestpractices for FG inventory planning.
RequiredKnowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Experience: Minimum 5+ years of purchasing and/or planning experience in Life Science or Medical Device industry or:
Education: A minimum of a 4-year degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or other business management discipline or related field
PreferredKnowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Certification in CPIM or CSCP a plus
Strong analytical skills combined with practical businessacumen.
Demonstrated ability in building relationships across variousfunctional teams.
Demonstrated ability in managing multiple tasks within tightdeadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP.
Ability to work independently, typically initiating own taskswith input/guidance from manager.
