Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility Customer Service is seeking a US-based service authority for railway electrification/traction power systems. The ideal candidate has a Testing & Commissioning Technician or an Electrical Engineering background to support our large installed base in North America. This position can be based in Sacramento, CA, Portland, OR or be Fully Remote within the US. We would love to have you join our team!

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Carrying out tests per approved test plans, test procedures, and risk assessments; Completion of test documentation & reports

  • Performing on-site system assessments where you will diagnose, solve and repair wiring or equipment failures.

  • Co-developing solutions for system upgrades, modernization, and digitalizing

  • Understanding customer struggles and converting them into service offerings as you develop customer proposals.

  • Travel up to >80% is required in peak times, usually expected less than 40%

To thrive in this role:

  • Technical diploma or Bachelor of Science in Electrical / Electronic Engineering. In lieu of degree a minimum of 5 years’ experience in substation testing and commissioning or engineering will be considered.

  • Intermediate level of experience in Traction Power Systems / AC or DC Substations and equipment.

  • Strongly demonstrated customer service and interaction skills.

  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit

  • Setting you apart from others would be Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with demonstrated ability with Traction Power Systems and plus would be having worked in the Rail industry and in-depth knowledge of and experience with the following Siemens products:

  • 8DA10 Gas-insulated Switchgear (GIS)

  • Sitras® REC diode rectifier

  • Sitras® DSG DC switchgear

  • Sitras® PRO / MDC DC micro-processor protection relay

  • Sitras® SCD short-circuiting device

  • Sitras® SCS-DC station controller

The base salary range for this position in Sacramento, CA is $96,800 - $130,700 and in Portland, OR is $88,000-$119,100. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
