Position Overview:

We are looking for a Proposal Support Specialist who will play a strong role in crafting the image and reputation of the company as they reflect our organization's vision and goals. This position provides a full range of proposal preparation and production support to the proposal director in the Mobility Rolling Stock business unit and is responsible for handling the administrative aspect of proposal development, which includes writing, editing, and prioritizing proposal inputs to meet customers’ requests for proposal requirements. This position will support multiple proposal efforts and is essential to business development activities.

What you will be doing:

  • Participate in all phases of the proposal preparation process and participate in internal proposal reviews.

  • Review proposal guidelines to identify content and formatting requirements.

  • Prepare proposal material from rough draft into final proposal format.

  • Provide professional writing support, proofreading, editing restructuring, and formatting proposal content as the need arises to ensure accuracy, consistency, and appropriateness of content, or as defined by the proposal director.

  • Coordinate and work optimally with multiple parties internally/externally and support paper and electronic production and packaging of proposal documents and other administrative duties as assigned.

  • Adapt to changing demands, be able to meet multiple deadlines, and handle meaningful time pressures.

What you will need to be successful:

  • A BA/BS, or equivalent work experience is strongly preferred.

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and PowerPoint. Basic knowledge of Excel, Project, and Visio is required; intermediate knowledge is strongly preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of computer graphics is strongly preferred, including editing, sizing, and importing graphics into Word and PowerPoint.

  • Strong command of the English language; ability to compose, edit, and proofread a variety of documents.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively, provide a high level of attention to detail, balance multiple deadlines, and work with minimal direction.

  • Ability to work for extended periods. Some overtime may be required.

  • Ability to work effectively in a deadline-oriented environment while maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in all business matters.

*This job is based in Sacramento, CA. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://www.benefitsquickstart.com/siemens/index.html . The base salary range in Sacramento, CA, is $70,600 - $95,700. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
