Siemens Field Service Engineering Manager in Sacramento, California
Due to organizational growth, we are adding a Field Services Manager of Commissioning Engineering to the team. The ideal candidate must have a solid technical understanding of Passenger Locomotives, Coaches, and Light Rail vehicles in order to lead their team through the Qualification phases of OEM contracts. The goal of the position is to ensure that the when our cutting edge Rolling Stock vehicles are delivered to a site, there is: a plan for qualification testing which meets or exceeds contractual and Federal Regulations; appropriately educated and experienced staff available to accomplish the plan; and vendors, materials, and expert support arranged to achieve the schedule. The position has the full support of the Field Service Department along with the rest of the Siemens Rolling Stock business to execute this mission.
Employee relations including; employee motivation, effective two way communication and engagement
Performance Management; monitor and take action to maintain performance levels
Resource Management; plan to meet team resource needs and recruit and induct employees
Schedule Management; collaborating on and executing schedules for Qualification test programs.
Customer Engagement; main point of contact to the customers, internal and external, to communicate status, plans forward, and problem resolution during Qualification Testing.
Safety; demonstrate role model behavior that promotes a zero harm culture.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience.
A minimum of 5 years of successful experience in Rolling Stock validation, commissioning, and/or Field Service activities
A minimum of 2 years experience leading Qualification Testing programs for North American customers (including a minimum of 1 year Qualifying Heavy Rail per FRA regulations).
Must have excellent communication skills.
Minimum Bachelors Degree in Engineering Field
