Siemens Technical Manager (Locomotive Electro-mechanical Systems) in Prague, Czech Republic

Becoming a technical manager in Engineering means coordinating a highly skilled team of specialists across several subject areas and countries, taking ownership for implementing customer requirements, and crafting appropriate solutions. We have and continue to develop a phenomenal technical product - the Vectron platform locomotive , of which more than 1,500 units are currently in operation across Europe. An integral part of Vectron vehicles are sophisticated mechanical and HW systems. If you have a desire to lead a project team responsible for the development of these components and systems, we are looking for you!

Key responsibilities:

  • Technical management of multidisciplinary international project teams focused on engineering with a main emphasis on the Vectron platform

  • Planning and defining project activities, project milestones, and monitoring schedule compliance

  • Team coordination of development of new and modified mechanical components and systems, including hardware changes

  • Management of development considering approval and homologation processes

  • Response to new technical and approval requirements within the development of new functions, including customer, platform, and regulatory requirements

  • Calculation of hour requirements, controlling, and reporting of completed tasks

  • Cooperation and support in the testing and approval of vehicles across Europe, both in the laboratory and on the test track

  • Communication with project management, other project managers, production, and test engineers

Requirements:

  • Higher education in a technical field

  • Experience in development or engineering in electromechanics area

  • Practical experience in project management - in terms of technical project management in development

  • English and Czech language for everyday professional work

  • Systematic, careful approach and the ability to see things in context

We appreciate if you additionally have:

  • Experience in the field of railway vehicles

  • Knowledge of 3D MCAD systems such as Creo, Catia, NX

  • Knowledge of the German language
