What part will you play?
Leading an experienced team of release managers and supervising the project activities is your primary responsibility
You define and implement a comprehensive release strategy for the IT transformation program
Taking on the responsibility for all release activities for shared systems, particularly SAP Platforms like S/4, BTP, and others, falls to you
You ensure communication to management and stakeholders
In addition, you have overall ownership and decision-making authority on all matters regarding the efficient release process, including planning, coordination, and monitoring of releases
You have budget ownership and full technical and commercial responsibility (incl. planning/forecasting)
Providing guidance to the project teams to identify release schedules and requirements, ensuring their successful delivery, is one of your key tasks
Ensuring quality assurance and testing for each release and identifying and addressing release issues and risks are part of your responsibilities
Continuously improving the release management process by implementing best practices and automation is a priority under your leadership
Managing and maintaining the tools (e.g., SAP SOLMAN) for our agile way forward, supporting the project methodology based on SAFe, is your responsibility
Collaborating with international teams located in different locations, fostering effective communication and coordination, is essential in your role
What you need to make real what matters.
A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required
You should have at least 5 years of experience in release management or SAP Basis Management within complex IT transformation programs or projects
Demonstrated experience in leading and guiding teams of professionals is essential
Your background should include significant project management experience
Training and coaching skills are necessary, with a focus on soft skills and agile working methodologies
Possess soft skills for successful stakeholder relationship management, including managing expectations and mitigating risks
Extensive knowledge in managing shared systems, specifically SAP S/4 and template solutions, is required
Experience with SAP template protection and complex transport management is highly desired
Familiarity with agile development methods and DevOps practices is expected
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities are essential for this role
You have excellent communication and teamwork skills
Experience working with international teams in distributed locations is preferred
Fluent proficiency in English is required, with German language skills considered advantageous
