The Solutions & Service Operations Manager leads teams responsible for project management, system installation, and commissioning activities as well as performing service work for fire and life safety systems. Why is this important? The right candidate will manage the revenue and gross margin to targets by controlling job costs and executing projects on time while also coordinating activities for service agreements, service migration and installed projects, and Time & Materials (T&M) work to provide on-time delivery and ensure customer expectations and commitments are met. Target revenue achievement for this position is greater than $5 million annually.

As a Solutions & Service Operations Manager , you will:

  • Oversee the hiring, supervision, training, and mentoring of solutions & service teams through goal setting, performance monitoring, employee review meetings, and scheduling of formal training. 

  • Manage revenue, gross margin, and absorption to achieve monthly and annual business plan projections and forecasts. 

  • Maintain relationships between Operations and Sales teams so project details, changes, and plan discrepancies can be managed to minimize cost and delays throughout the estimating, bidding and operations phases of each project. 

  • Direct and supervise the development of project plans to monitor and control the progress in the execution of work ensuring schedules are maintained and projects proceedin accordance with the contract documents and customer expectations. 

  • Drive expansion of chargeable opportunities, including T&M, system upgrades, and service contracts, ensure quality assurance activities are completed, such as sales-to-service and projects-to-service turnover including final project walkthroughs, service agreement scope reviews, and final information turnover to inspection team. 

  • Support contract profitability through cost containment procedures and processes and ensure contract requirements are met and performed to a high standard.   

  • Develop customer relationships and maintainhigh levels of customer satisfaction while ensuring effective and timely communications and determine technical labor loading and appropriate balance of talent to ensure proper resource coverage to meet customer needs.  

  • Champion safety compliance by ensuring employees meet or exceed organization and customer safety requirements, ensure employees are properly trained on safety requirements and enforce adherence to organizational processes, tools, and workflow standards.   

  • Maintain excellent organizational and interpersonal skills 

      

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:   

  • High school diploma or state recognized GED

  • Industry experience with strategic planning, contracting, project management, account management, and all aspects of general business management 

  • Understanding of financial reporting with the ability to apply cost control measures  

  • Familiarity or experience with Fire Alarm and Fire Sprinkler Systems

  • Must obtain NICET Level II Fire Alarm certification within 12 months 

  • Knowledge of national and local fire alarm and fire sprinkler codes and standards, including building and electrical codes

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office   

  • Verbal and written communication skills in English 

  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations  

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3+ years experience supervising a fire and life safety team

  • The pay range for this position is $108,850 - $186,600and the annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
