In this role, you will incorporate RAMS management to lead specific CBTC application projects through RAMS planning over requirement clarification, monitoring design, software and hardware modifications and corrections, factory and field test monitoring, cutover safety analysis, and safety case to independent safety evaluations.

You'll make a difference by:

  • Prepare and implement project safety plans per Siemens standards and practices. Including ensuring that vital documents (hazard analyses, fault tree analyses, safety cases, etc.) are available for approvals

  • Provide evidence of compliance with system requirements about reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety using customer requirements and regulatory guidelines

  • Perform RAM and Safety Analyses to identify faults within the systems and operations

  • Support project execution by coordinating safety activities with the Project Manager, Systems Engineers, Independent Safety Assessors, Suppliers, and Customers.

Please note that this position can act either as an Individual Contributor or Team Lead, depending on capabilities and experience.

You're excited to build on your existing expertise, including:

  • BSc. / MSc. In Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Sciences, or a similar field

  • 5-10 years of experience as a RAMS engineer or RAMS manager for sophisticated and safety-critical Railroad, Nuclear Plant, Aerospace, or Automotive systems

  • 5+ years of on-the-job experience with the following: FMECA, FTA, PHA, Hazard Logs

  • Hands-on knowledge of CBTC Systems and CENELEC standards (EN50126, EN50128 and EN50129) and knowledge of safety-critical software development per EN50128

  • Experience with managing Safety Related Application Conditions or Safety Application Rules

  • Either Siemens TGMT or RAMS Team Leadership experience is required to be considered for this role.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • RAMS relevant standards (IEEE-1483, IEEE-1474, MIL-882, IEC-61508, MIL-217) and experience with at least 2 of the following: CBTC, Signaling, CBTC-Signaling interface, CBTC-RS interface

  • Experience in exchanging Hazards/Safety Requirements across Subsystems

This job is based in New York, NY. We offer a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The base salary range for this position in New York, NY, is $144,300 - $194,900, and the annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
