You will be part of a team that designs and supports the Siemens vision for North American Rail Automation. You will be working closely with subject matter experts, architects, developers and testers to develop and support the Siemens Back Office Server (BOS), which is part of the Positive Train Control (PTC) initiative. PTC is shaping the landscape of the rail transportation industry for decades to come and will be leveraged as a backbone for future technologies that will lead to network optimization and an autonomous rail network.
Design, implement, enhance,unit-test, and support functionality of the BOS
Provide estimates for modulesunder development, and estimate own work
Take leadership initiatives insoftware development projects
BS Degree or foreign equivalentin Computer Science or Engineering
Analytical mind withproblem-solving aptitude
Ability to develop quality softwarein C++ and quickly come up to speed in similar languages
Ability to analyze and fix problems
Ability to professionallyinterface with peers and management
Ability to work independentlyand with little supervision
Ability to be part of a 24X7on-call rotation
Experience in an agileenvironment
Experience with unit andintegration testing frameworks
Experience with LINUX operatingsystems
Experience with complexsoftware topics such as multithreading and inter-process communicationasynchronicity
Experience in interfacing withcustomer and providing technical feedback in a customer-friendly manner
Experience with the versioncontrol system git
Experience with relationaldatabases
Experience with AI and data analytics
