Job Description:

Siemens Customer Services is the service arm for Siemens Mobility rolling stock products (Light Rail Vehicles, and Main Transit Lines), covering customer needs throughout North America. Customer Services is in search of a Product Manager to lead its Parts Services product line.

As the product manager for Parts Services, you will expand and improve the current service vision for these products and develop an ongoing strategy of service improvement and product sales growth. The product manager will analyze market and competitive conditions to strike a clear path toward the business value of the Siemens service product and move the offering to the next level of growth and service.

This position requires cross-functional leadership. As the Parts Services product manager you will work with various groups within the Siemens organization, and collaborate with customers to meet their needs and expectations. You must possess communication skills to listen and articulate to a wide spectrum of individuals in different disciplines. Through this work you will work to insure service level obligations are developed, performed and properly executed.

The responsibilities of the Parts Services product manager include developing product and contract services through market research. You will then use that research to improve, develop and refine the service portfolio and related service offerings. Additionally, you will change and grow the current portfolio to adapt to changing market conditions.

General position responsibilities

  • Manages the products, solutions and/orservices assigned with full responsibility for the results, includingdefinition of customer and market requirements, growth & profit strategies,business planning, road mapping and execution.

  • Constantly observes the marketincluding internal and external factors as well as relevant competitors'product(s), solution(s) and/or service(s) to adjust product strategies andpaths forward.

  • Establish, develop, and manages orsynchronize a relevant cross functional team necessary to support the businessgoals of the product and services.

  • Drive the business performance of theproduct(s), solution(s) and/or service(s) assigned over the whole productlifecycle in cooperation with all partners over the whole process chain (PLM /SCM / CRM).

  • Incorporate market feedback includingcustomer insights for continuous improvement of the service program(s).

  • Create, develop and refine relevantperformance metrics based on contracted service obligations.

  • Contribute to activities tocontinuously improve the product lifecycle management.

  • Communicate to all levels of authoritywithin Siemens and within customer organizations.

  • Independently perform the full range of standardwork for the professional field.

  • Identifies and resolves more complex problems andapplies problem-solving skills in order to dealwith mostsituations.

  • Know customer needs through researchand market data

  • Create long and short-term productsales forecasts and analysis for management

  • Determine product pricing based onmarket research, production costs and anticipated demand

  • Market products with sales teams andevaluate sales calls

Position requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business disciplinerequired. Master’s degree in a businessdiscipline is a plus.

  • Demonstrated success in productmanagement

  • Heavy industry experience a plus

  • Ability to travel 25% of the time

  • Microsoft Office proficient. Salesforce, and SAP experience a plus

  • Must be able to handle stress and makedecisions in a challenging environment
