Position Overview:

The Business Governance Senior Specialist for the Rolling Stock (RS) Business Governance Department will engage in various internal services with a focus on business administration. The position requires strong Microsoft Office skills and the ability to handle effectively and accurately data and reporting on a multitude of business-related topics. This role will interface with multiple departments and levels of responsibility. The role is in our new Lexington, North Carolina location. The role works closely with the Governance Management team. There will be some travel required to our Sacramento, CA facility for training.

We are looking for an experienced candidate able to support the tracking and documentation of company initiatives, supplier advocacy, governance, and business administration topics. The position will involve communication internally and externally, administering plans and programs, analysis, attention to detail, preparation of presentations, policy updates, creating reference documents, and reporting. The position will require strong organizational skills to handle a large volume of data and effective communication skills to work across organizational boundaries to engage employee participation in a variety of programs. The position will also support and may participate in activities externally with chambers of commerce and advocacy groups as part of business outreach activities. A flexible schedule is needed to meet deadlines as required and to support a variety of events and workshops both internally and externally. Job responsibilities may change as business needs change. The position requires on-site involvement with some flexibility for periodic remote work. Versatility and the ability to cover activities with varying levels of complexity and time constraints are required.

• This role expands upon the typical internal services’ professional role. While there is an emphasis on the administration of internal programs there is an external component as it relates to business outreach and supplier diversity-related activities. Additionally, as working with financial figures is a part of the role, business analysis is crucial to tracking and improving business functions and implementing new solutions. The qualities of this role align with those of a Business Administration Professional with experience in finance, supplier diversity metrics, and reporting or program administration.

What you will be doing:

• Supports assigned organizations with professional internal services on a variety of topics.

• Conduct analysis, project/process reporting, and database/data management.

• Analyzes and designs processes, methods, and structures incl. resources and scheduling.

• Determine specific measures (KPI's) for monitoring performance.

• Develop programs, statistical reports, budgets, and presentations.

• Participates in projects within the field of competence.

• Communicates and runs trainings for process implementation.

• Completes maintenance, organization, and distribution of technical or commercial records and information.

• Integrates analysis, development, testing, and implementation.

• May interpret and functionally influence policy and guidelines and develop processes and systems to deliver functional objectives.

• Track KPI’s and program activities and generate reports, charts & presentations for program performance.

• Participate in projects as assigned. They can be both short-term, long-term, and ad-hoc.

• Collaborate effectively across the organization to ensure accurate, timely, and fully vetted updates.

• Support and provide presentations for local reviews, management presentations, and initiatives.

• Prepare commentary on performance on a variety of business topics.

• Complete all program and reporting requirements timely and accurate.

• Acquire a solid understanding of the Rolling Stock business, its products, services, and processes through interaction with the local leadership teams and departments.

• Support and participate in business outreach activities and assigned internal programs.

• Provide support to the RS Business Governance, Diversity, and Outreach Programs.

• May lead or provide directions to others in a non-supervisory role.

  • May advise operation staff, and act as competence point of escalation.

• May represent the team at conferences and participate in panels.

• May act as a liaison on assigned topics.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

What you will need to be successful:

• Required Education: High School diploma or GED

• Required experience: 10 years performing business administration, financial or project analysis in a corporate setting or educational equivalent.

• Advanced Excel and MS Office application skills required.

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule: there will be occasions when this team attends after-hours events or must work outside of normal business hours to meet a deadline.

• Work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business

• SAP experience

• Knowledge of General Business Administration Topics, Digitalization, Supplier Diversity, Productivity Improvement Programs, Program Management, Asset Management

• Superb work ethic; attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality work

• Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills

The position may support some general facility activities under the Governance Department scope, which can include lifting items up to 40 pounds. DMV record screening is required as an individual in this position may drive a company vehicle.

Travel will also be required to support business-related activities.

*This job is based in Lexington, NC. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://www.benefitsquickstart.com/siemens/index.html . The base salary range in Lexington, NC, is $114,900 - $155,500 with an annual incentive target of 15% of the base salary. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
