DCS Architect /Project Manager 4

Job Location: New York City

Key Responsibilities:

Performs leading-edge areas of work for the implementation of the Design Build Construction Process. Prevents potential problems and provides effective solutions in reaction to application of concepts, techniques, knowledge, or processes. Displays original thinking in applying principles, theories, and concepts on a wide range of problems.

Knowledge andExperience:

A Degree in Architecture or Project Management, or equivalent years of experience.

PMI Certification

Demonstrates extensive knowledge in field of Architecture & Design Build Construction specialization or multiple disciplines to the successful completion of complex construction projects. Successfully serves as point of authority and/or source of technical knowledge of Architecture principals in construction, planning, & installation requirements as it relates to Medical Imaging Equipment. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of organizations business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues.

Direction of Others:

Develops customer solutions by working with Project Managers, Sales Account Executives, Architects, Engineers, and Contractors to implement construction principles and project management methodologies to ensure the successful execution and outcomes of complex projects.

Key WorkingRelationships:

Acts as advisor to customers and business partners on advanced technical matters. Represents the company as the primary external contact. Knowledge of Construction / Project- Program Management, Analytical Problem Solving, and Interpersonal skills. Strong business aptitude in Design Build Construction, Construction Proposals / Contracts, CSI 16 Division format, Financial Management, logistics processes and customer / contractor interfacing.


  • Responsibilitiesinclude overall project management of Design and Construction Services (DCS)projects to support the business volume goals while maintaining a high level ofcustomer satisfaction.

  • AnIn-depth knowledge of the Design Build Construction Process as it relates toMedical Imaging Equipment Industry. Knowledge of Construction / ProjectManagement, Analytical Problem Solving, and Interpersonal skills.

  • Strongbusiness aptitude in Design Build Construction, Construction Proposals /Contracts, CSI 16 Division format, Financial Management, logistics processesand customer / contractor interfacing.

  • Thisposition also supports the sales effort by creating and delivering DCS serviceswhich include new space planning, existing space and modular constructionproposals as requested by the customer base.

  • Reviewconstruction scopes and contracts with project stakeholders to develop customerexpectations.Additionalresponsibilities include continued process improvements to reduce nonconformingcosts.

  • Manageassigned projects to ensure project scheduling and budget compliance.Applies advanced skills to resolve complexproblems not covered by existing procedures or processes independently.

  • Providetechnical assistance and yearly training to DCS vendor base.

  • Knowledgeof PMI standards for project management processes.

  • Knowledgeof the overall construction industry as it relates specifically to medicalequipment private and government industry.

  • Knowledgeof the Siemens IDIQ contact, (turnkey and extended installation) for the VA andDLA projects.

  • Familiarwith the Facilities Guidelines Institute and the VA construction guidelines forthe construction and installation of medical imaging systems.

  • Knowledge of Architectural principles,construction contract law, terms and conditions, bonding, insurance, workman’scompensation, claims, local codes, permitting requirements, project budgetfinancing, accounting practices, construction bidding processes, local andfederal tax requirements and risk assessments and managing virtual teams.

  • Additionalcompetencies needed to fulfill areas of responsibility include communicationskills, team leader skills, problem solving skills, conflict management skills,critical thinking skills and business writing skills.

  • Must have knowledge of relevant policies,procedures and work instructions as applicable to this job function. Must haveknowledge of Siemens matrix organization and perform cross functional workrequirements within the matrix structure.

  • Obtainand maintain PMI certification.

  • ProvideProgram Direction for multiple projects.

  • Coordinatemultiple projects large enterprise hospital network or IDN.

  • Effectivelycommunicate at all levels of the large group entity particularly at theexecutive or C level.

  • Provide dotted-lineoversight of DCS vendors when coordinating multiple projects across thenetwork.

  • Provides relationshipmanagement and status reporting of all projects to the partner’s executivemanagement.

  • Manage multipleprojects in support of ground-up new hospital or research facility.

  • Develop and implementdetailed solutions for complex project challenges by working with advancedstakeholders and SMEs.

  • Develop and deployeducational content in designated area of expertise.

  • Develop training andmentoring of new hires.

  • Support SiemensProject Managers and Sales team in best practices, issue resolution, andCustomer Satisfaction issues.
