Job Description:

Position Overview

As a Commodity Management Specialist 3, you are a technical expert in the procurement organization partnering with R&D for cost and value optimization of Siemens Healthineers existing and new products.

  • PerformCost Analysis and Optimization, Design to Cost for existing and newcomponents

  • Subject matter expert in printed circuitboard assembly (PCBA), electro-mechanical and mechanical parts to supportcommodity management and R&D in cost analysis, design-to-cost at all phasesof product life cycle

· CVE is part of the US Commodity Management and Engineering team reporting to Director of Procurement.


  • Performand manage Cost Analysis and Optimization projects.

  • Performcost calculation for: Printed circuit board assembly, electro-mechanicalassembly, cable assembly, machined and sheet-metal parts.

  • Supportglobal and regional commodity managers in supplier negotiations.

  • SupportR&D in target costing and design-to-cost optimization.

RequiredKnowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • engineering or related in engineering field required.

  • Morethan 3 year experience in engineering and/or procurement.

  • Experiencewith Surface Mount Technology (SMT), through-hole PCBA.

  • Experiencewith machined and sheet-metal parts.

  • Experiencewith cost analysis tools and software.

  • Experiencewith component cost structure, supplier negotiation.

  • Fineattention to detail along with ability to self-regulate, self-motivate andself-prioritize.

  • Driveresults, influential skills; Cross functional collaboration.

  • Upto 20% travel.

PreferredKnowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • MBAis a plus.

  • Experiencein machine shop, manufacturing environment, and commercial aspects of thebusiness.

  • Knowledgein injection molding, thermal forming, reaction injection molding, and/orbio-chem is a plus.
