The *Fire Alarm Specialist * participates in the installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of fire alarm equipment that has been newly installed. Systems include fire safety, mass notification, detectors, and field peripherals. You will communicate design details to customers, installation and service teams, and subcontractors. You will also interface with other trades to successfully complete projects while exceeding customers’ expectations.

As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will:

  • Assist with the commissioning of new fire alarm systems on construction sites documenting commissioning details; communicating deficiencies and progress

  • Assist with testing and inspecting of existing fire alarm systems

  • Plan work with mentor, Lead Technician, and Team Leader

  • Complete commissioning within planned timelines

  • Submit accurate time and expense logs

  • Work overtime when needed

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Level II: 3+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems

  • Senior: 5+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems

  • Must be able to differentiate types/colors of wire; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted 

  • Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 1 within 12 months

  • Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for employer-based sponsorship now or in the future 

  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred

  • Ability to read/understand design and construction documents

  • The pay range for this position is $47530 - $94560 / year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
