As Consulting Manager (f/m/d) Transient Studies, you have the unique opportunity to drive the development and transformation of power networks globally. Our team of the highly skilled and motivated experts supports system operators and utilities around the globe in their individual pathway towards energy systems with an increasing share of renewable energy sources and other, power electronics based technologies (e.g. FACTS, HVDC, BESS, electrolyzers), which need to be integrated and operated efficiently and reliable. By leading our Transient System Studies Team, you will be leveraging the deep domain knowhow that Siemens PTI has in the field of dynamic and transient phenomena, based on our 60+ years in the business and Siemens’ world class software. As a trusted advisor within an excellent organization, you can actively define and implement planning solutions and projects that create value to our customers and society globally.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Consulting Manager (f/m/d) Transient Studies, located in Germany to advance the growth of our expert consulting business.

What part will you play?

  • In your new role, you are leading and managing our group of expert consultants on Transient System Studies in Siemens Germany, with direct disciplinary staff responsibility. You take active responsibility for the business success of your group

  • You identify new business opportunities in the markets, define and shape customer value propositions for our portfolio and link with our internal strategy and initiatives

  • You effectively engage in sales and marketing for our portfolio and business in Transient System Studies, Power Technologies International, and Siemens Grid Software

  • Furthermore, you are guiding and supporting the development and the execution of our international consulting business on transient system studies

  • You are executing, managing, and supporting customer projects on power system planning and development, and are leading national and international project teams

  • You are contributing your expert knowledge in fields such as modeling of equipment, performance analysis and optimization of system operation, with focus on transient phenomena and applied to e.g. system integration of renewables and other power electronics based technologies, controller interactions, insulation coordination, switching transients

  • You connect with external and internal stakeholders in the energy and consulting communities and with our key customers

  • As part of your tasks, you are also traveling internationally to meet with external and internal stakeholders

  • Focusing on Customer value, you are driving the system transients business and building long-term relationships with existing and new stakeholders

What you need to make real what matters.

  • The basis of your success is a completed master´s degree in electrical engineering or a comparable field

  • You already have longterm experience in the power system planning, with special focus on aspects such as:

  • System modeling and simulation

  • Steady-state, dynamic and transient performance

  • Power electronics modeling and analysis

  • Transient phenomena and calculation methods

  • Data management and analytics

  • Work experience with utilities

  • You are familiar with tools like PSS®E, PSS®SINCAL, PSCAD or similar

  • Your experience includes the management of expert teams

  • In addition, you convince customers and management with your communication skills, agility, and professional mindset

  • You are flexible and familiar with executing in a fast-paced, diverse, and dynamic business environment

  • You are a strong team player, strategic thinker with focus on viable solutions, and have an international mindset

  • Proficiency in English is a must, knowledge of German is a plus
