You‘ll make an impact by:

In this role you will part of a high-performance engineering team in the Middle East based in Qatar. While providing state-of-the-art engineering solutions you will also be focusing on the following:

• Leading design, engineering, testing and commissioning of automation projects.

• Provide efficient solutions to problems during engineering and commissioning.

• You will be in collaboration with the other members of the execution team as well as the service & sales team for Digital Industries.

• You will functionally report to your direct Line manager and to the respective project managers (for the projects that are assigned to you)

• Ensure cohesive approach to project deliverables ensuring high quality standards, meeting the timelines with punctuality and execution with ownership, dedication & minimum supervision.

• Prepare industry specific solution, engineering packages, concepts and engineering templates.

• Implement assigned engineering packages, using project specific software programming techniques.

• Analyse the technical specification, testing and documentation requirement of the project given by the Project Manager for the relevant work package.

• Leading the Commissioning of the engineered solution at customer sites

• Support and advise Project Manager for project execution activities.

• Technical clarification with customers and sub-suppliers

• Actively utilize all sources of information, know-how and experience for a project specific and entrepreneurial use.

• Make use of opportunities to learn from others and share experience.

• Manage compliance to standards, rules and regulations.

• Identifies and evaluates continuously all opportunities for the project enhancement.

• Identifies and evaluates all evident risks, suggests appropriate counter measures and report the same to the project management.

• Coach and guide junior team members.

• Support the Installation & Commissioning Team when required to Identify and rectify problems found during installation and commissioning of equipment/software solutions supplied.

• Willing to travel to sites and travel on short notice and able to handle flexible working hours on demand basis.

• Supports customer remotely and onsite and play a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction, understanding customer needs, and delivering excellent service.

• Conducting FAT ,SAT ,other Testing activities for the Projects

Your success is grounded in

• Engineering Degree in Electrical or Electronics or Equivalent

• 9+ years hands-on experience executing automation projects from design till handover.

• Expertise in PCS7 hardware & Software Engineering and Commissioning.

• Expertise in Networking & Cybersecurity Engineering and Commissioning.

• Should have a Growth mindset and high appetite for learning & implementing new technologies.

• Should have proven hands-on expertise in PCS7 programming, HMI / SCADA Programming, SIMATIC S 7 / PLC / TIA, Industrial Communication

• Should work independently with a proactive approach.

• Ability to communicate fluently in English (verbal and written).

• Good Experience in Stakeholder Management and Conflict Management.

• Expertise in conducting presentations and workshops to internal & external stakeholders.

• Experience in handling complex projects involving multi-cultural, multi-national / regional, diverse groups.

• SCADA Systems: Simatic S7, TIA & WinCC engineering, testing, and commissioning expertise is preferable.

• Experience in Power and Substation Automation with IEC 61850 communication implementation Projects would have an added advantage.

• Knowledge of and experience with SIMATIC S7 program languages, TIA Portal, WinCC C language. Tools – knowledge of PLC Programming Languages – Ladder/STL/SCL/FBD.

• Preferably, good experience on communication protocols like MODBUS, Profibus, Profinet, HART, Ethernet, OPC etc. Should have gone through complete project life cycle from design phase to commissioning.

• Experience of Onsite modifications, interfaces with DCS, ESD, F&G systems.

• Experience with IEC 61850 communications protocols for Integration with Protection Relays Siemens Siprotec would be an added advantage.
