Brightly Software is seeking an innovative individual to join our Product team in the role of Data Scientist to drive best in class client-facing Analytics by creating and delivering insights that advise client decisions tomorrow.

As a Data Scientist, you will partner with our various software Product teams to drive client facing insights to inform smarter decisions faster. This will include the following:

• Formulate and develop predictive models that provide value added insights to our clients.

• Code, test, document, and deploy new analytics insights using standard Business Intelligence (BI) tools established at Brightly for machine learning (ML), reporting, dashboarding, data cloud, and automation.

• Define and document standards for analytics processes and data to allow cross-product insights.

• Layer on environmental impact insights where applicable to inspire and guide our client’s and communities’ journey to net-carbon-zero targets.

Key Responsibilities include a combination of Strategy, Execution and Leadership with the ideal candidate possessing a clear track record of excellence in each area:

Execution

• Ownership of Analytics models, meta-data, and optimization framework.

• Define required data types and data gathering techniques.

• Build scalability into business models with a focus on rapid growth across both geographies and client verticals.

• Identify new data sources and mining opportunities for value added client insights.

• Create clean data sets, standards, and documentation to lay solid analytics and BI foundation.

• Identify and deliver key data sciences projects across the Product organization including predictive analytics, KPI’s, benchmarks, sustainability metrics, and cross-product insights.

• Ensure alignment on systems roadmap, data needs, and data architecture as needed.

Leadership

• Possess high self-awareness as a data leader with a proven ability to work on cross-functional teams.

• Ability to effectively engage with all levels of management and staff.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required

• 3 years of experience as a Data Scientist or related role

• Experience with Data analysis and ETL tools

• Strong BI tools knowledge on report and dashboard development (Qlik products preferred)

• Understanding of ML modeling including ability to define, refine and implement as well as knowledge of ML frameworks and libraries

• Analytics experience in multi-functional domains preferred e.g. c-suite insights, operational insights, financial forecasting, opportunity identification, reporting, dashboarding, etc..

• Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven experience with the development of interactive dashboards using data visualization tools (Qlik Sense / QlikCloud preferred).

• Experience with the development and implementation of machine learning models and optimization and automation (Sagemaker preferred)

• Exposure to software release practices (CICD, SCRUM, etc..)

• Able to operate successfully in a lean, fast-paced organization, and to create a vision and organization that can scale quickly

The pay range for this position is <$80,000-$150,000>. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
