The Digital Factory Division within Siemens Industry Inc. has an open position as System Engineer for Digitalization in the Bay Area, CA, focused on specific strategic customers and accounts in the consumer electronics industry.
The System Engineer is responsible for developing and realizing digitalization solutions and concepts for the manufacturing industry and supporting identified customers and accounts. This includes machine and plant simulation, virtual commissioning, digital twin, smart manufacturing, machine to machine communication, augmented reality and artificial intelligence.
The successful candidate has technical experience in automation and digitalization plus exceptional communication and execution skills paired with organizational skills and business acumen to achieve goals on time.

Present and promote digital manufacturing hardware and software products to prospects and customers (pre-sales)
Perform complex hardware and/or software design consultation in accordance with customer/project needs
Complete technical product advice for the development and implementation of customer solutions
Provide one-on-one support and assist customers through applications from concept through completion
Consult with appropriate groups for complex domestic and international projects
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Bachelor's degree in electrical/computer/mechanical engineering or computer science
Comprehensive knowledge and experience in machine design software and automation software
Machine building/design know-how with NX and MCD (preferably) or other CAD tools like Creo, SolidWorks or SolidEdge and simulation tools
Experience in automation and motion control systems (preferably SIMATIC)
Experience in interaction with customers, suppliers and other stake holders
Ability to understand, articulate and present the value of manufacturing engineering solutions in the context of electronics manufacturing industry
Ability to independently execute proof of concepts and customer projects
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Prior Siemens automation experience is a plus.
Prior experience in the machine building industry or consumer electronics industry.
