Siemens Smart Infrastructure is looking for a Project Manager to reinforce our Electrification & Automation team. More specifically, you will be fully responsible for the successful commissioning of a power distribution solution for a long-term project with an electricity transmission operator . The project is focused on implementing standard cases to produce RTU cabinets, DCS, Mini RTU’s and the supply of IEC61850 interfaces . Our solution is based on the SICAM A8000 range of equipment and is designed to ensure the transmission of information from the substation to the control centers.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful execution of our project. You ensure final responsibility for large-scale projects in terms of costs, deadlines and quality . Throughout the project, you are accountable for internal monitoring of the project and report to management during PRMs (Project Review Meetings). You'll coordinate all tests, trainings and commissioning activities , clarify technical issues with your customer and ensure business continuity and customer satisfaction .

You will act as the single point of contact for our customers , able to define and determine the appropriate solution, based on your own knowledge and experience, and supported by deeply technical discussions with different stakeholders (Sales colleagues, the customer, management, Expert colleagues, etc). Your significant technical background and experience in electrical networks allow you to understand customer needs and translate them into concrete achievements . You are technically able to discuss with our clients, experts in their fields, regarding electrical products , such as local SCADA system with advanced electrical functions , local command and control systems , telecommunication systems , power quality .

This entails the following responsibilities:

  • Management of all phases of the project ; requirements, analysis, development, testing, pilot, customer training, implementation and control.

  • Establishing an optimal project team that meets the needs of your projects, from A to Z. You’ll coordinate and monitor this team, having functional but no hierarchical responsibilities and managing the team schedule according to project expectations. This also includes follow-up of suppliers and contractors.

  • Implementing industrialization processes and procedures optimization of the test and purchasing workflow.

  • During the project's completion, you and your team will ensure the execution of the different engineering phases: concept and design; functional analysis; software development; hardware configuration; testing; follow-up of installation; and commissioning.

  • Properly managing the scope, schedule, finances, risks, quality and resources .

  • Setting up regular meetings with your client on the progress of contract execution, quality assurance, priorities, extensions and new opportunities. You are the first level of escalation.

  • Monitoring the financial health of your project , including profits & loss responsibility, together with your colleague Commercial Project Manager.

  • Setting up procedures to optimize the production chain .

  • Ensuring the complete set of documentation of the milestones and tests to guarantee the quality of deliverables and professional project management.

What qualifications are required for this position?

  • Industrial or civil engineer in electromechanics or electricity.

  • 5 years of experience in engineering development for protection and control system projects.

  • 5 years Project Management experience, supported by a PM certification.

  • You have a good overview of a turnkey project and are able to manage the different parts of it : Hardware, Software, Subcontractors, Project Team, Assembly, Commissioning,...

  • You are French and Dutch speaking. Next to that, you have a professional level of English. Proficiency in the three mentioned languages is mandatory in time.

Which technical qualifications are required for the project?

  • Advanced knowledge of electrical substations and High Voltage / Medium Voltage electrical networks.

  • RTU/HMI: good knowledge of at least a similar system.

  • IEC61850: good basis or able to learn to be working with it quickly.

  • Microsoft Excel: Advanced knowledge.

  • Microsoft Access: good basis or able to learn to be working with it quickly.

  • Knowledge of Ethernet TCP/IP communication networks is required.

  • Knowledge of Agile methodology is a plus.

  • Knowledge of SICAM A8000 and SICAM Device Manager is a plus.
