About Siemens Technology Department

Siemens Technology is the central in-house research unit at Siemens and as such occupies an outstanding position within Siemens' R&D facilities. It acts as a strategic partner to support Siemens’ business units with R&D services, protects the company’s intellectual property, coordinates the collaboration with top universities worldwide, and supports standardization activities in all business units and regions. Through its R&D activities in Germany, USA, Portugal, China, India, Japan, and Eastern Europe, Siemens Technology helps to secure the company’s technological future and strengthen its ambition.

Your mission will be…

  • Supporting the local Cyber Security & Technology team in Portugal in all finance related matters and the controlling of local contributions to the global services, projects and initiatives.

  • You will be responsible for the financial controlling and target achievement for the Cybersecurity and Technology teams in Portugal.

  • You will monitor financial performance, provide KPI analysis, prepare and comment on respective performance reports required by local management or Technology Field /Cybersecurity Global Finance Heads. Ensure transparency, accuracy, and timeliness of various reports.

  • This includes all financial tasks from forecasting and budgeting, deviation analysis and definition/implementation of corrective measures etc.

  • You will be in regular exchange with colleagues of the global Cybersecurity and Technology finance teams.

  • You will guide and train the local teams to correctly allocate their costs to the local projects / global service structures and control the cost ramp up including corrective measures on cost center/project level.

  • While Cybersecurity/Technology is in the process of establishing a comprehensive service controlling system and toolset covering cost allocation planning and controlling with several funding sources based on a variety of contracts, you will support the local rollout and support the teams in transition.

  • You will support global financial digitalization & automation initiatives to further optimize our financial toolset (e.g., planning and forecasting, contracting and charging, analysis and visualization)

  • Together with the head of finance for Cybersecurity & Technology in Portugal you will be responsible for the financial contract management and commercial project management of important projects/programs for internal and external customers (e. g. affiliates, carved out units, publicly funded projects etc.)

  • You ensure consistency with internal and external controlling standards, policies, and procedures, and adopts respective local and global processes.

We are looking for someone with...

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or similar

  • 4 o 5 years of working experience in Finance Functions e. g. Business-, Service- or R&D controlling, Sales, Commercial Project Mgt

  • Experience in service and project business model development

  • High analytical competence, high level of dedication, focus on results

  • Mindset of driving change, Problem solving ability and proactivity in communicating problems with a solution

  • Curiosity and flexibility to work in both worlds, service and R&D organization

  • Understanding diverse backgrounds, cultural and organizational

  • English fluent, other languages welcome

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (MS Excel is a must) and experience with SAP applications, PowerPoint

  • Experience with analytics and visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, KNIME, Alteryx, Tableau, Qlik)
